Lisa Tracy, CAP, Certified Coach

Lisa, the founder of Philanthropy Vision, has over 20 years of experience in advocacy on human rights, the environment, women, health, microenterprise, prison inmates, and international giving. Lisa is a philanthropic advisor and a certified coach; she has also been a nonprofit executive, activist, grantmaker, and financial advisor. She loves working with people who have a burning desire to change the world, young people, and families and foundations exploring social change philanthropy.

Lisa brings passion, irreverence, truth-speaking, and a grassroots perspective to her work.

Lisa is especially well known for her outstanding contribution to the environmental movement in Russia, where her 30th birthday was celebrated on national TV.

She belongs to the Fairy Godmothers women donors circle, and is a pioneer in small-grants programs and international giving.

Lisa completed her coaching certification at the NLP and Coaching Institute of California, a program accredited by the International Coach Federation.

Lisa is also a specialist in planned giving – restructuring one's finances to give more to philanthropy and less to taxes. She was among the first in the country to earn the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) designation. Lisa is also completing her credentials as a Certified Financial Planner ™ and Accredited Estate Planner. She has worked in the socially responsible investing business.

Lisa has appeared in numerous national journals and on BBC Radio. She has presented at conferences and seminars of the National Association of Philanthropic Planners, Grantmakers Without Borders, Women's Funding Network, The Funding Exchange, Horizons Foundation, and Resource Generation.

Lisa loves travel, nature, and long-distance backpacking. She lives in Oakland, California.

Miles Smith, MBA

Miles is a philanthropic advisor and coach specializing in donor engagement, family succession issues, community leadership, and sustainability. Miles' favorite work is with small family foundations that are beginning the process or are transitioning into new phases, particularly with younger generations. His philanthropic clients have included family foundations, community foundations, and individual donors.

With over 15 years experience as a trustee for a family foundation and 10 years as an entrepreneur, he brings a unique blend of experience that emphasizes strategy, impact, creativity, and a passion for philanthropy. His foundation's approach to working with grantees as co-grantmakers has garnered national interest. Miles believes that philanthropy can be fun, collaborative, and impactful, all while feeding one's curiosity and passions.

Miles has received his coaching training at Falling Awake's Life Coach Program. His favorite coaching clients are philanthropists and socially responsible entrepreneurs.

Miles lives in San Francisco, California.

Drake Zimmerman, JD, CFP, CAP

Drake is a philanthropic planner who works with clients in 40 states – from his practice in Normal, Illinois. Drake is a money manager and comprehensive financial planner. But his real passion and specialty is helping philanthropically-oriented people to “connect their money to their meaning” and reorganize their estates so as to give a lot more to their favorite nonprofits and a lot less to taxes.

To that end, Drake has become one of the most highly trained specialists in the country, earning designations including JD, Certified Financial Planner ™, Chartered Financial Analyst, Accredited Estate Planner, Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy, and Family Wealth Counselor. He is contributing author to “Giving: Understanding How and Why to Do Charitable Planning” (2002). Additionally, Drake completed his coach certification from international teaching seminars, London.

Drake is passionate about his philanthropic causes, and he “leads out loud” by acting both locally and globally. He founded or co-founded two organizations: the Community Foundation of McLean County and Rotarians Against Malaria. Drake authored “Enduring the Darkness” (2000) – a compilation of the inspiring letters of South Korean human rights prisoner Kim Seong Man. In 2000, Drake 's alma mater, Simpson College , named him Humanitarian of the Year.

Currently Drake is working on a new book series explains philanthropic planning concepts in plain language to laypeople and inspired givers.
